The playbook
Some of the loudest cheering we've ever recorded came from a kabaddi raid, not a cricket final. Desi Games Day brings back the playground: kabaddi on a matted arena, eight-a-side tug of war, kho-kho chases and a carnival of classics like langdi and pitthu (seven stones).
These games need zero equipment skills — just nerve — which is what makes them the most democratic formats we run. We stage them with proper referees and safety matting, departments field squads for each game, and a points table crowns the overall desi champion.
On the field
▸ Kabaddi: 7-a-side matted arena with raid clock
▸ Tug of war: 8-a-side, weight-classed pulls
▸ Kho-kho: 9-a-side chase brackets
▸ Langdi, pitthu (seven stones) and dodgeball
▸ Musical chairs blitz (open entry)
▸ Overall desi-champion department trophy
